|
The aim of the British Council’s work in Pakistan is to enhance the reputation of the United Kingdom as a valued partner.
GenderAlthough we focus on issues surrounding the status of women as a specific area of concern, we see gender as an issue that cuts across all the work of the British Council in Pakistan. Our policy is to assess and address inequalities between women and men, boys and girls, in relation to our all activities.
Governance as a cross-cutting concernOur cross-cutting work in areas such as education, English language teaching, the arts and in Library and Information Services means that we can approach governance issues from many angles and with a wide range of in-house resources at our disposal. In addition, we also have specialist staff with a great deal of experience of successfully managing large and small-scale projects to set objectives. The British Council Pakistan has responded to the importance attached to improvements in governance by local partners and donors by developing a comprehensive governance programme.
